Sarah J. Kolb, of Brookville, was born on July 12, 1945 in Hazard, Kentucky a daughter to John M. and Louella Phipps Stidham. She married Charles F. Kolb on October 15, 1964 at St. Michael Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2020. Sarah worked at Sperry’s, J&J Packaging, and cleaned at the Valley House. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, reading and helping others. On Monday, December 21, 2020 at the age of 75, she passed away at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.
Those surviving who will cherish Sarah’s memory include her children, James (Pam) Kolb of Liberty, Cindy Kolb and Thomas Kolb, both of Brookville; brothers, Mark Stidham of Deputy; half-brothers, Charlie and Willie Wooten of Kentucky, and half-sister, Malte Caldwell of Hamilton, OH. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Doshie Oliver, Loretta Baker, Frances Wooten, Ruby Cox and Grover Stidham.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Fr. Vincent Lampert will officiate a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church at 10 a.m. and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
