Ruby Marie (Sedam) Hopping

Ruby Marie (Sedam) Hopping, 73, of Milan, Indiana, passed away Friday January 22, 2021 in Batesville, Indiana.

She was born April 20, 1947 in Milan, IN, daughter of the late Charles Nicholas Sedam and Ruby Faye (Ellis) Sedam.

Ruby worked hard all of her life until her accident many years ago. Ruby was proud to be the independent business owner of Ruby’s Janitorial Service. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Osgood, IN. In younger years, Ruby enjoyed embroidering, cooking, baking, dancing, and socializing. She loved to have fun. She was very hospitable and would make sure that you didn’t leave from a visit without a bag of “goodies” that she had put together special for you. Discovering the treasures was all part of the fun of your visit. Ruby enjoyed people and family and she will be greatly missed.

Ruby is survived by her longtime spouse, Charles Hopping of Milan, I;, son, Daniel Holler of Columbus, OH; daughters, Tina M. (Holler)  Schuman (Scott Bell) of Louisville, KY, Loretta L. (Toby) Day of Moores Hill, IN; sisters, Esther (Larry) Hunger of Versailles, IN, Ruth (Howard “Bud”) Corson of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Deana  (Casey) Botkin, Thomas Day, Christian Holler, Trista Holler, Mariah Holler, Shana Snyder; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Nicholas Sedam; mother, Ruby Faye Sedam; brothers, Earl, James, Ralph and Gary Sedam; son, Charles “Chuck” Holler; and grandson, Dustin “Dusty” Schuman.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 27, 2021, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Wednesday at 2:00 pm. following visitation.

Interment will follow in the South Sparta Cemetery, Moores Hill, Indiana.

Contributions may be made to the Milan Volunteer Fire Department or EMS. If unable to attend services, please call the funeral home office at (812) 926-1450 and we will notify the family of your donation with a card.
