TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is considering adding new measures to determine who is eligible to enroll at the school.
The admissions office is looking at instituting a personality quiz, called “the locus of control” to the college application.
The test will pose a series of statements such as “Grades most often reflect the effort you put into classes” and quiz-takers have the option of answering true or false.
College officials say it could help determine how confident students are in becoming successful and reaching goals.
Rose-Hulman already uses the test to examine retention rates from freshman to sophomore year. Future students could see the test as part of the application as early as next year.
