Robert E. “Bob” Lauber, 89, Sunman

      Robert E. “Bob” Lauber, 89, of Sunman passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Manderley Health Care Center with his loving family by his side. Bob was born on Saturday, March 2, 1935, in Milan; son of Harvey and Dorothy (Brandt) Lauber. Bob married the love of his life, Rosella “Posey” (Rohrig) Lauber on May 29, 1954, and she survives. Bob was a truck driver and a farmer for 30 years, worked for Wayne’s Meat for 10 years, and also the Town of Sunman for 2 years. Bob was a lifetime member of the St. Paul Methodist Church and drove the church bus, “God’s Nightcrawler.” Bob was part of the farm club for approximately 5 years and had a passion for restoring tractors. Bob enjoyed boating, going on cruises, traveling by train and visiting all 50 states with his wife. Many special memories were also created flying in a private plane with his niece Bonny Smith.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife Posey Lauber of Sunman; daughter Brinda (Mark) Back of Cross Plains; sister Bernetta Dobson of Milan; grandchildren Christina Lawrence and Gary Back; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his son Bobby Lauber; sisters Esther Edmondson and Janice Hosmer; brother Donald Lauber; and grandson Gregory Back.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Bob from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. An hour of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2024, at St. Paul Methodist Church; 8930 IN-101, Sunman, IN 47041. Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ted Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to St. Paul Methodist Church or Interim Healthcare Hospice.
