Ohio County, IN— State Road 262 is scheduled to close between Nixon Road and White Road, west of Rising Sun in Ohio County, on or after Monday, July 6, weather permitting. Under the closure, Indiana Department of Transportation contractor GeoStablization International will begin work on a slide repair contract to stabilize a 740-foot section of roadway and shoulder located east of Stewart Ridge Road with a soil nail wall.
Construction will close the road for approximately 90 days, through early October. The official detour will follow U.S. 50 and S.R. 56. Access to homes within the closure will be maintained.
Motorists should slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather dependent.
