VERSAILLES, Ind. – Gold Star Chili in Versailles is hosting a benefit from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday to raise money for local children to have a brighter holiday season.
The restaurant will donate a percentage of the sales to the William R. Rayner Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #177 Cops and Kids program.
Officers from each county agency will take children shopping Saturday and let kids pick out anything they want in a 30-50 dollar range.
Organizers say the program has grown over the past few years to serve over 150 Ripley County children. All donations go directly to the holiday program and to emergency serves for children throughout the year.
