Qutia F. Linville, age 96 of Batesville, died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born January 5, 1926 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Margaret (Nee: Shanahan) and Howard Griffin. She married William Linville May 15, 1954 at St. Louis Church and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2009. After working nine years as a lab technician at Margaret Mary Hospital, she became a stay at home mom to raise her family.
Qutia loved the outdoors, especially taking care of her flowers as well as having a love for cats. Her faith was important to her and she prayed the rosary regularly. She also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her daughters Donna Speckman, Brenda Henretty; sons Bill Linville, Bob Linville, all of Batesville, Ken Linville of Greensburg; sister Fedelia Faust of Kentucky; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Thelma Theobald, Margaret Velkovich, Delores Howard, Lonnie Munchel and brothers Howard, Harold, and Hilbert Griffin, Daniel Bettice, John Theiring and Desmond, Francis and Norbert Kellerman.
Visitation is Wednesday, March 16th from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. 11 a.m. funeral services follow at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stan Pondo officiating and burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Louis School. The family requests masks be worn by all in attendance.
