(Greensburg, IN) – A 4-H member’s project at the Decatur County Fair caught the eye of local enforcement, but in a good way.

Marvin Mauer’s 4-H Farm Scene project, named “Hot Pursuit,” won Grand Champion honors and is advancing to competition at the Indiana State Fair.

Mauer’s diorama details the stolen school bus chase in late May that began in Cincinnati and went through Ripley, Franklin, and Decatur counties before ending in Shelby County.

The scene features the work of the Greensburg Police Department, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, St. Paul Police, Indiana State Police, and other agencies.

Greensburg Police and Decatur County deputies visited young Marvin this week (pictured) to congratulate him and provide details about the incident for his presentation to the judges at the State Fair.

Mayor Joshua Marsh was also on hand to speak with and congratulate Maurer.
