(Greensburg, IN) – Construction of a new swimming pool to serve Greensburg and Decatur County is apparently off the table for now.
Decatur County Commissioners were not able to reach an agreement yesterday on how to proceed with construction of a new facility to replace Allen Memorial Pool (pictured), which was closed last year due to deteriorating conditions.
The stalemate came after nearly an hour of discussion on how to pay for it.
It was noted that taking on the pool project would be extremely difficult at a time when the county needs to pay for the new highway garage, Decatur County Fairground improvements and the Park Road reconstruction project.
