Police action shooting under investigation in Connersville

Connersville, in. — Indiana State Police have been requested to investigate an officer involved shooting by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

A report from the state police says on Saturday at 10 p.m. officers responded to a fight in progress in the 2000 block of Indiana Avenue. As a Connersville police officer and a sheriff’s deputy approached the yard a male emerged with a shotgun. After a short confrontation police shot at, but missed the subject, Jason Combs, 29.

Combs fled to the residence but later surrendered and was taken to the Fayette County Jail.
