Lady Pirates Fall To Lady Panthers In Girls Soccer

The Greensburg Lady Pirates opened the season at Knightstown Saturday afternoon and fell to the host Lady Panthers 2-0.

Fourteen minutes into the match the Lady Pirates were not able to clear and secure a loose ball in the six and it found its way into the net. The scored remained 1-0 at the intermission as both teams took 4 shots.

After both teams making multiple runs and changing possession, the host squad got a quick counter-attack to the net their second goal of the match.

The Lady Panthers had 10 shots on goal for the game while the Lady Pirates had 6 shots on frame. Emily Lowe and Keirsten Lynette shared the keeper duties. Lowe made 3 saves and allowed 1 goal while Lynette made 5 saves while allowing a goal.

Taking shots for the Lady Pirates were: Sierra Huffman, Sara Brown, Abby Easley, Katie Beam and Emma Porter. The defensive backs of Porter, Sarah Schneider, Lynette, Alaina Nobbe, Takisha Lee and Kenzie Redelman forced 3 offside traps in the match.

The Lady Pirates will be in action Tuesday evening when they host Rising Sun. Kickoff is set for 5:30 PM.
