‘Pocket Park’ springs up in downtown Batesville

Batesville, In. — A “pocket park” has popped up in the city of Batesville at the corner of Main and George Streets. Mayor Mike Bettice says several Businesses, the Rural Alliance for the Arts and Main Street Batesville all came together to make the project possible.

Pocket parks are very appealing for downtown areas because public spaces can be created without the high cost of redevelopment. The projects inspire creativity and collaboration among groups and residents.

The park will remain in place for the Batesville Bash.
