Thomas Ahaus

Thomas Anthony “Amos” Ahaus, of Yorkville, was born on June 13, 1961, the son of Frank E. and Anna Mae Roark Ahaus. Tom loved spending time with his large family and group of friends, and while he enjoyed teasing them, he was also very kind and extremely generous. In his spare time Tom was a dedicated Nascar fan who also loved working on and racing his own cars. He also helped raise and train race horses, and enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing. On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, Tom passed away at The Waters in Batesville.

Tommy’s memory will be cherished by many, including his father, Frank Ahaus of Yorkville; his children, Joe Ahaus of Aurora, April Ahaus and Nathan Deshane of Lawrenceburg, Greg Ahaus of Rising Sun, and Marc Ahaus of Hebron, Kentucky; along with ten grandchildren. He will also be missed by his four brothers, Francis (Kim) Ahaus of Cincinnati, Johnny (Paula) Ahaus of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Chris (Jane) Ahaus of Aurora, and William Ahaus of Yorkville; three sisters, Sandy (Gary) Stenger of Sunman, Mary (Rick) Clark of Dillsboro, and Tamie Ahaus of Milan; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Nancy Jane Ahaus, and Arnie and Lou Roark; two sisters, Debbie Ahaus and Nancy Ahaus; nephews, Andy Stenger and Josh Garrison, and 1 great-nephew, Kyle Garrison.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 7, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Sunman. At the request of the deceased, there will be no service.
