The Greensburg Boys Soccer team opened the season with a 13-0 loss to Shelbyville.
While the first 10 minutes saw the Pirate defense playing disciplined, after the first Shelbyville goal, the floodgates opened as the Bears took an 8-0 lead into halftime. The second half the Pirates played well in spurts, allowing for Nicholas Zapfe and Collin Springmeyer to see multiple shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper, Mason Ponsler was another bright spot for the Pirates, registering 15 saves on the evening while demonstrating some aggressive play.
