Peyton Olivia Sherrell

Peyton Olivia Sherrell gained her wings on August 26, 2025 at Children’s Hospital Cincinnati at the age of 17.

She was born on February 8, 2008 in Batesville, Indiana at Margaret Mary Hospital at 2:58 am at 6lbs 1.8 oz. Peyton was the beloved daughter of Jessica Kelley and Daniel Sherrell. From the day she was born until the day she passed, she had a spunky attitude, infectious laugh/smile, loved endlessly and was full of life even through sickness.

Peyton attended Batesville schools until August of 2024, when she then attended Hamilton High School. She loved her family and friends more than anything and just wanted to be around everyone. She loved music (all genres), Hello Kitty, anything pink, and she loved clothes and shoes, period!

Peyton was the strongest person we all knew, tackling a heart transplant at age 2, cancer from the transplant and beat it all at age 4, but even with all she endured, she pushed through for 15 years. We will forever cherish the 17 short years we got to be with her beautiful soul!.

Peyton will be missed more than anything by her loving family and friends. Peyton is survived by Jessica Kelley (Mother), Daniel Sherrell (Father), Courtney Sherrell (Step Mom), Conner Sherrell (Brother), Gabriel Pedro (Brother), Madisyn Sherrell (Sister), Donna Miller (Mamaw), Ray and Melissa Sterling (Papaw Ray/Mimi), Tonya and Leroy Mullins (Grandma/Grandpa), Anthony Kelley (Grandpa), Gracie and Vicente Camarena (Sissy/Uncle), Ben and Mariam Karimi-Miller (Uncle/Aunt), Matt and April Miller (Uncle/Aunt), Jordan Sterling and Josh Baker (Aunt/Uncle), Steven and Lauren Sterling (Uncle/Aunt), Jeremy Kelley (Uncle), Jeneen and Brayton Deal (Great Aunt/Great Uncle), Margaret and Charles Sherrell (Great Grandma/Great Grandpa), Ray and Darlene Sterling (Pop pop/Great grandma), Maddie Sterling, Phoenix Sterling and Leighton Baker (Cousins).

Peyton was preceded in death by Daryl Miller (Papaw), Sonya Kelley Smith (Aunt), and Wallace Miller (Great Grandpa).

A visitation and time to celebrate Peyton’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, from 4-7 pm with a 7:00pm service immediately following at Meyers Funeral Home, 1150 St. Rd. 46 E, Batesville, IN 47006.

Her presence touched countless hearts and she will be profoundly missed. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in peace.
