Paul F. Minning, 58 of New Point, Indiana died Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Greensburg, IN. Born in Greensburg, IN on March 20, 1958 he was the son of Donald R. and Viola (Hart) Minning.
Graduating from Greensburg High School in 1976, he won many awards in vocal, piano and tuba. He attended Indiana and Ball State Universities, majoring in music. He worked at Holloway Pipe Organ Co. in Indianapolis several years and then at BCA in Greensburg. He served as Organist and Choir Director at the First Christian Church in Greensburg for several years and was currently serving in those positions at St. John Lutheran Church in Napoleon, IN.
Paul enjoyed composing music and wrote music each week for the gospel acclamation. He tuned and repaired pianos, pipe and reed organs. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique musical instruments, especially pipe organs and harpsichords. He was a member of the Tri-County Harmonizers Barbershop Quartet. He enjoyed listening to classical and Baroque music, cooking and baking and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked as meter reader for New Point Sewage.
Paul is survived by his mother, Viola Minning of New Point; son, Friedrich Minning of Greensburg; daughter, Clarise Minning of New Point; two granddaughters, Leia and Victoria; and one brother, Thomas D. Minning Sr. of New Point.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Donald R. Minning Sr., in 2012; and his brother Donald R. Minning Jr. in 1979 to whom Paul had donated a kidney in 1976.
Visitation will be Monday, April 4th from 5:00-8:00pm at New Point Christian Church in New Point, IN. Funeral Services Tuesday, April 5, at 10:30am at New Point Christian Church. Mark Vice officiating. Burial will follow in Rossburg Cemetery in New Point, IN.
