Patrick Lee Kelly Sr., 73, of Rising Sun passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at The Waters of Rising Sun. Patrick was born on Monday, October 22, 1951, in Milan; son of Wilbur and Mary (Bromwell) Kelly. Patrick served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Lawrenceburg Eagles. Patrick worked as a machinist for Duke Energy at the Miami Fort Power Plant and was in the IBEW Local #1347. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to listen to music, especially the blues, and enjoyed attending rock concerts. He also had a passion for watching NHRA drag racing and the Indy 500 Brickyard.
Patrick will be missed by his son Patrick Lee Kelly Jr. of Saylor Park, Ohio; step-mother Phyllis Kelly of Latonia, Kentucky; brothers Steve Kelly of Aurora, Scott Kelly of Sparta, Kentucky, and Ray Rector of Hamilton, Ohio; sisters Kay Thies of Rising Sun, Carolyn McClellan of Vevay, Joann Schaub of Rising Sun, Jeannie Rector of Aurora, and Regina Kelly of Latonia, Kentucky; granddaughter Maddie Rappold; and several cousins.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Mary Kelly; son Nicholas Kelly; companion Mary “Cricket” Colen; and brother Chris Kelly.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be given in honor of Patrick to the donor’s choice or The Waters of Rising Sun Activity Fund.
