Franklin County, Ind. — One person was seriously injured in a boating accident Saturday on Brookville Lake.
Indiana Conservation officers were called to the Garr Hill Boat Ramp at about 3:30 p.m. on a report of a female injured. Officers determined Megan Schlade, 37, of North Carolina, was in the water when the propeller of a watercraft came in contact with her lower extremity.
Schlade was removed from the water immediately for initial treatment then flown to the University of Cincinnati Hospital for treatment.
The operator of the boat, Martin Simple was not charged in the accident. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
