Oldenburg, Franklin County team up for road and historic bridge project

OLDENBURG, IN — A local town and county have shaken hands on a federally-funded road and historic bridge project.

The Town of Oldenburg will take care of roadwork on Water Street, while Franklin County will handle repairs to Bridge #163 at a $2.3 million price tag – 80% of which will be reimbursed by the federal government.

The town will pay nearly $56,000 while the county will shell out about $400,000.

Design work is scheduled to start this year, with construction slated to begin in 2027.
