Oldenburg Academy varsity baseball suffers shutout loss at Lawrenceburg

The Oldenburg Academy varsity baseball team (2-5) traveled to Lawrenceburg and fell to the Tigers 4-0 on Wednesday.

The game started out promising, as a single by Cy Muckerhide in the first inning was a positive for the Twisters. “It was a great way to start the game. Cy and I spoke about him being more aggressive and it paid off.” Coach Kolks said.

Jordan Davidson got the win on the hill for Lawrenceburg. Davidson surrendered zero runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out 14 and walking one.

Clay Eckstein was handed the loss for the Twisters. Eckstein lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three. Jacob Hoff threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Muckerhide, Jacob Cornelius, Zach Hoff, Hoff, Eckstein, and Matthew Hesselbrock each collected one hit for the Twisters.

“We got a great start from Clay and great relief from Jacob. Offensively we just need some more timely hitting.” Kolks added.

The Twisters are off until Monday, April 24th as they travel to North Decatur for a 5:00 first pitch.
