Walks and Errors haunt South Ripley softball in 20-3 loss to Rising Sun

The South Ripley Raiders varsity softball team got off to a rough start Wednesday night, giving up 17 runs in the first two innings in a 20-3 loss to Rising Sun.

Morgan Meyer struggled on the mound for South Ripley, walking nine batters while giving up 5 extra base hits.

The Raiders outhit the Shiners 9-8, but the walks and 9 errors on defense were major factors in the lopsided final score.

Julia Hilton and Anna Block both went 3-3 for the Raiders, with the former hitting a double and knocking in a run.

With the loss South Ripley, drops to 2-7 on the season and 0-3 in the ORVC. The Raiders will return to action this evening with a home matchup against Trinity Lutheran. First pitch is at 5:30 pm.
