OA Boys Soccer has difficult day at Lawrenceburg

Outshot 26-2 overall, it was a rough Saturday for Oldenburg Boys Soccer as the Twisters lost 8-0 at Lawrenceburg.

The Tigers scored early and often taking a two goal lead within the first four minutes.

“It was a tough day on the pitch on a very hot muggy afternoon,” said Oldenburg coach Kenny Getz.  “We got manhandled by a very good Lawrenceburg team. We couldn’t get anything going on offense and couldn’t stay with our mark on defense.  The Tigers are fast and use the turf to their advantage. Sometimes you have these types of games.”

Game stats from Oldenburg assistant coach Mike Wilhelm.

  • The Twisters had 2 shots, 1 on goal, 6 fouls, Alex Matacia had 3 saves and Isiah Waggoner had 3 saves.
  • The Tigers had 26 shots with 11 on goal, 1 offsides, 1 foul, 5 corners and their keeper had 1 save.

We thank coaches Getz and Wilhelm for the information.
