The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its group of women enshrinees for 2024. One member of the new class is 1996 North Decatur graduate Jill Morton McFarling.
During her high school career, Jill was an Indiana All-Star and Gatorade Player of the Year. She was also a Street & Smith All-American both her junior and senior seasons, averaging 27.3 points per game as a senior.
McFarling scored 1,656 career points at North Decatur, along with pulling down 324 rebounds, dishing off 381 assists, and stealing the ball from opponents 316 times. She went on to play at Louisville, where she scored 1,402 career points in 112 games. McFarling was the first Cardinal to be drafted into the WNBA, and first to be an All-American. She holds the Cards’ single-season record for 3-point shooting, having made 53 1/2% of the shots she took from beyond the arc.
The Hall’s women’s induction class of ’24 will be honored April 27th with a reception at the Hall of Fame museum in New Castle, and a banquet that evening in Indianapolis.
