Norman Wesley Whaley 85 of Lawrenceburg passed away passed away April 16, 2018 at High Point Health in Lawrenceburg. Norman was born April 15, 1933 in Clay Township, IN; the son of Russel and Alice (Hornbeck) Whaley. Lifelong companion for over 60 plus years, Eleanor Mary Jackson. Norman served his country have been in the US Army. He worked for Jack Groh as a subcontractor out of P&G and was a painter. He was a member of the Northcutt Laaker Post # 292 for over 63 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, fan of the Reds, country music lover, in his younger years he belonged to a Band called Dillsboro Playboys in 1949.
Norman is survived by Lifelong companion: Mary Jackson of Lawrenceburg; her children and grandchildren. Half-brother: Jim Whaley of West Carrolton, Ohio. One nephew and six nieces. He was preceded in death by brother: Ivan “Dudge” Whaley and one sister Catherine Whaley Stambaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday April 19, 2018 at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with full military rites by the Northcutt Laaker Post #292. Visitation will also be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
