Norman Conrad Schlemmer III, 78, of Greensburg passed away February 11, 2025. He was born February 5, 1947 in Springfield, IL to Norman and June Schlemmer. A 1965 graduate of Greensburg Community High School, Norman pursued higher education at Indiana University and Franklin College. In addition to his ministerial work, he was the owner of Lakepoint and The Oaks Apartments, demonstrating his commitment to both faith and community. He dedicated his life to ministry, serving as a devoted spiritual leader and spreading the word of God. His faith extended beyond the pulpit, as he traveled on mission trips to share his beliefs with others. He also had a passion for flying and enjoyed piloting aircraft, combining his love for travel with his mission-driven pursuits.
On September 3, 1983, Norman married Judy (Seibel) Schlemmer, sharing many years of love and companionship. Norman’s legacy will be remembered by those whose lives he touched through his ministry and business endeavors. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Seibel) Schlemmer; sons, Norman “Chip” (Lisa) Schlemmer, Robert (Rachel) Schlemmer, Timothy Ricke and Brian Ricke; daughters, Kimberly (Rock) Arnold and Julie (Ben) Greenlee; grandchildren, Isabel, Caden and Sage (Julia) Arnold, Nick, Megan and Tyler Schlemmer, Parker, William and Jackson Greenlee and Olivia, Abbigail, Penelope and Bobby Schlemmer, Jamie, Angela, Steven, Brayden and Brandon (Stacey) Ricke, Zoie Stuart and Savannah Essenter; great-grandchildren, Jaidan and Ryanna Ricke and Xandria Smith; siblings, Arthur (Linda) Schlemmer and David (Jayne) Schlemmer; and sister-in-law, Brenda (Seibel) Hornberger.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and June Schlemmer, his first wife Penelope (Verway) Schlemmer, and brother-in-law James Seibel.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral at 1:00 pm.
