(Friendship, IN) – No one was injured when a chimney caught fire at a home on the 5,000 block of State Road 62 in Friendship Sunday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived around 2 p.m., they found that the flames were confined to the chimney with a light amount of smoke in the house.
Firefighters say the liner in the chimney failed and blocked the flue.
There was only light smoke damage reported.
The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department reminds homeowners keep their chimneys and fireplaces clean and serviced.
