Nina Joan Ruble, 88, of Versailles passed away at 4:45am, Monday, February 1, 2021 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Versailles on May 20, 1932 the daughter of Everett and Helen Handlon Hafft. She was married to Raymond Ruble and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1986. Survivors include two sons Raymond “Peach” (Linda) Ruble, Jr. of Greensburg and Tony (Dionne Spears) Ruble of Moores Hill; five daughters Joyce (Denny Wood) Franklin of Milan, Janet (Mert) Myers of Versailles, Joan Deal of Mishawaka, Sheila Ruble of Indianapolis, and Anita (Ray) Strack of Union, Kentucky; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Corine Ruble of Georgetown, Texas; two brothers Gene (Janice Gilpin) Hafft of Versailles and Ronald Hafft of Bloomington. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Phyllis, her son Mark and her granddaughter Sarah Ruble. Mrs. Ruble was a former employee of Berkel Electronics in Versailles and retired from Reliance Electric in Madison in 2002. Nina enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting, bowling, and also found time to do babysitting in her home, but her mainstay in life was her family. She cherished her time with them and even with her busy life she found time to make quilts for her grandchildren. Nina was a member of the St. Magdalene Catholic Church in New Marion and upon its closure became a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison. She was also a member of the Ripley County Red Hatters. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the St. Magdalene Cemetery at Madison. Memorials may be given to the St. Magdalene Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
