(STATEWIDE) — As 2025 begins, three new laws are set to take effect across Indiana, impacting child labor, excavation practices, and income taxes.
Teen Work Hours Expanded
Teens aged 16 and 17 can now work the same hours as adults, lifting previous restrictions. Federal rules still apply for younger teens, limiting 14- and 15-year-olds to three hours on school days and 18 hours per school week. Employers may face lighter penalties for minor infractions, like brief time overages.
