Nancy Leah Havlin

Nancy Leah Havlin, 89, of Aurora, IN, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

She was born August 14, 1935, in Cincinnati, OH, daughter of the late Edward Mullinger and Violette (Gruneberg) Mullinger.

After many years at home raising her 7 kids, Nancy became a Teacher’s Aide at Manchester Elementary School. For over 25 years she touched and enriched many lives and spent the last 20 years of her career as a Special Education aide. Nancy also sold Avon before and during her work at Manchester. With Avon she got to visit “friends” and be paid for it for 45 years.

Nancy was an avid reader, and enjoyed bird watching. She enjoyed knitting and bowling when she was younger and dearly loved to watch her Reds play baseball in later years. Camping with her kids however, was her all-time favorite. Whether it was Halloween camping (carving pumpkins and handing out candy), sitting around a campfire (at the farm or campground) or her biennial summer camping vacations at Byrn Mawr Campground in St. Augustine, Florida (which she and Burs had been visiting with the family since the early eighties), these were the times Nancy looked forward to the most.

Nancy is survived by children, Mark (Amy), Debbie (Mike), Gregg, Shari (Mike), Vince (Tabatha), Kevin (Erin), and Amy (Bobby); grandchildren, Taylor, Carly, Kaitlyn, Melissa, Leah, Jeffrey, Drew, Tyler, Danielle, Breanna, Emilee, Justin, Leah, Cody, Ashley, Josie, Kiera, Alex, Landon, and Ariana; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Steve (Mary) Mullinger, Sue (Ed) Curtis, Mike (Sallie) Mullinger, Judy (John) Huber, Linda (Bill) Lack, Kathy (Steve) Grote, Pam (Tony) Grote, Jeffrey (Sherry) Mullinger, and sister-in-law, Judie Mullinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Violette Mullinger; her loving husband of 64 years, Burnett “Burs” Havlin; and brother, Ed Mullinger.

Friends will be received Friday, September 27, 2024, 11:00 am – 1:30 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:30 pm with Father Michael Clawson officiating.
