MYC Recognized by Batesville Council

(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) was honored for its efforts during the 2024-25 school year at Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Graduating seniors Sophie Gesell, Jon Spreckelson and Veronica King received special recognition for their years of service.

Their time with the organization will be remembered through the traditional plaque donated by the MYC to the City, which will be displayed on the second floor of the Memorial Building near Council Chambers.

The group is made up of students in grades 7 through 12, and contributed 2.081 1/2 community service hours between June 2024 and May 2025.

MYC members are required to perform 50 volunteer/community service hours and six of them went above and beyond.

They are Gabby Brown (76 hours), Amelia Vierling (76 1/2), Jon Spreckelson (77 1/2), Ella King (80 1/2), Alyssa Cummings (85), and Veronica King (92).
