He was born on April 23, 1950 in Milan, Indiana, the son of the late Ralph Eugene and Carolyn M. (Copeland) Morton. Ronnie grew up in Pleasant, Indiana and graduated with the class of 1968 from Vevay High School. A farm boy at heart, he spent much of his life working the land in Switzerland County, finding pride and purpose in farming. For 19 years, he also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Indiana Kentucky Electric in Madison, Indiana. On April 21, 2007, Ronnie married Darlene Cole at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church near Pleasant, Indiana. This happy blended family of over 18 years was blessed with five sons, Brian, Robert, Andrew, Neal, and Jacob. Together they shared countless memories, laughter, and adventures. Ronnie was a man who didn’t need much to be happy – give him a good ride on his Harley, a fishing pole by the water, or a crisp morning out hunting, and he was content. He was a longtime member of the Brushy Fork Baptist Church near Pleasant, Indiana and for many years proudly rode with the Harley Owners Group, building many friendships along the way. Ronnie will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend. He carried the values of family, faith, and hard work in everything that he did. Ronnie’s Harley Davidson was one of his greatest joys, carrying him on many adventures and giving him some of his happiest memories on the open road.
