Mr. Rodney Lee “Oddball” Manuel, age 64, of East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on September 8, 1959, in Madison, Indiana. He was raised in Bennington, Indiana, and attended the Switzerland County High School. Rodney was united in marriage in October 1982 to Shannon Lynn Callahan in Switzerland County, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with two daughters, Amanda and Leslie. Rodney was employed by the US Shoe Factory and Randall’s Textron for several years. He was later employed for Swiss Caps in Patriot, Indiana, retiring in 2023, after 23 years of service. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and euchre, as well as, watching IU basketball and the Bengals. Rodney died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at his residence in East Enterprise, Indiana.
Rodney is survived by his daughters, Leslie Nichole Wiseman and her husband, Alex of Elizabeth, IN and Amanda Mae Manuel-Crowe and her wife, Kelsey of Louisville, KY; his son, Josh Parker of Madison, IN; his grandchildren, Emerson, Amee, Maverick, Elijah, Kaylee, Avalee and Emitt; his nephew, Wesley Bruce and his wife, Natalie of Madison, IN; his aunt, Ruth Ann Shadday of Vevay, IN and his several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ashton Manuel, who died November 14, 2012; his father, Charles Edward “Chuck” Manuel, died February 29, 2012; his mother, Marjorie M. (Hinman) Manuel, died October 14, 2004; his sister, Catherine Sue (Manuel) Bruce, died August 24, 2021 and his great-nephew, Weston Bruce Fenning, died August 26, 2021.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
