Mr. Lloyd Wayne Callis, age 82, of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on March 24, 1938 in Bedford, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Grover C. and Fredia Kathryn (Perry) Callis. He was a 1957 graduate of the Trimble County High School. Lloyd was united in marriage on March 17, 1959 in Bedford, Kentucky to the late Alma “Birtie” Cook. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Theresa. Lloyd and Birtie shared nearly 44 years of marriage together until she passed away on March 3, 2003. Lloyd was employed for Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana until closing and Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky, retiring in 2016. Lloyd resided all of his life in the Switzerland County community. He attended several churches throughout his life. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, riding bikes, hunting, fishing and browsing the stores of Vevay. Lloyd enjoyed meeting and socializing with people. Lloyd passed away at 5:37 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.
Lloyd will be missed by his daughter, Theresa Huffman and her husband, Donald of Aurora, IN; his granddaughter, Whitney (Huffman) Howe and her husband, David of Aurora, IN; his brother, Donald Callis and his wife, Della of Madison, IN; his nephews, Jack Edwards, Jr., Kenny Callis and Greg Callis and his several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Fredia Kathryn (Perry) Callis; his wife, Alma “Birtie” (Cook) Callis and his brothers, John Perry and Paul Callis.
Due to COVID-19, private family visitation and gravesides services are being held.
Interment will be held in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
