Mr. Jerry William Bolden, age 83, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 20, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late William T. and Alfredia (Phillips) Bolden. He was raised on Beatty Ridge in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1959 graduate of the Vevay High School. After high school, he was employed as an old can milk truck driver for three years. Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Sue McClure on September 6, 1963 in Vevay, Indiana. This union of nearly 62 years was blessed with a son, Jeffrey and a daughter, Christy. He was later employed for Young’s Trucking for 10 years and was a former truck driver for Smith Transfer for 47 years. Jerry was a member of the Florence Masonic Lodge #27 F&AM. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, gardening and working in his yard, always keeping his lawn immaculate, and spent many hours outdoors cutting wood. Above all, Jerry loved spending time with his family. Jerry passed away at 4:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Ripley Crossing in Milan, Indiana.
Jerry will be missed his wife, Linda Sue (McClure) Bolden of Vevay, IN; his son, Jeffrey Bolden and his wife, Cheryl of Vevay, IN; his daughter, Christy Caplinger and her husband, Michael of Moorefield, IN; his grandchildren, Brandon Covington and his wife, Casey, Asia Young and her husband, James, and Delanie Swanson and her fiancé, Maverick Dwenger; his great-grandchildren, Weslea Covington, Landree Covington, Abram Young, and Evie Young; his sister, Barbara Ford of Madison, IN.
He was preceded in death by his father, William T. Bolden, died November 9, 1978; his mother, Alfredia (Phillips) Bolden, died June 20, 2000; and his brother-in-law, Paul “Eddie” Ford, died December 7, 2020.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Masonic Services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2025, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
