Mildred Marie Wiwi, age 107, of Cincinnati, Ohio and formerly of Franklin County, Indiana died early Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Hospice of Cincinnati.
Born August 18, 1912 in Franklin County, Indiana she was one of ten children born to the late Lee & Pearl (Cottrell) Beesley. On May 8, 1937 she was united in marriage to Louis A. Wiwi, and they lived and farmed for 52 years before retiring to Cincinnati; and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2002. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Brookville and had attended St. Jerome Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mildred enjoyed visits from family & friends, listening to the Cincinnati Reds baseball games, gardening, and was an excellent cook. She also was an avid quilter and made many beautiful quilts. She attributed her longevity to good genes, and her continued presence was a gift to all.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan Menda of Portsmouth, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sherri Smith, Jeneda Wiwi, Juliet Wiwi, Douglas Menda and Randall Menda; 10 great-grandchildren, Rami, Ben, Corey, Jaeden, Jaida, Scott, Kayla, Jenna, Jayce and Christian; five great-great grandchildren, Emma, Heidi, Nailah, Gwenleigh, and Claire.
In addition to her parents and husband, Louis, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Wiwi who died June 28, 2015; three sisters, Blanche Wendel, Helen Sintz, and Ruth Lang; six brothers, Alfred Beesley, Audrey Beesley, Clarence Beesley, Loren Beesley, Glen Beesley, and an infant brother, Harry Beesley.
Family & friends may visit from 10 until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Holy Guardian Angels Oratory, 405 U.S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove, Indiana.
Rev. Vincent Lampert will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 11, 2020, 11:00 A.M., at Holy Guardian Angel Oratory, 405 U.S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove, Indiana. Burial will then follow in Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donors choice.
