Mildred E. ‘Millie’ Kunkel, age 91, of Brookville, entered into Eternal Life, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the Brookville Healthcare Center in Brookville.
Born January 29, 1928 in Cedar Grove, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Lloyd L. & Elsie A. (Deffner) Holliday. On June 18, 1949 she became the wife of Lawrence Kunkel, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 1982.
Millie was a homemaker, and, also worked at the former McQuay Norris, and Roots Blower in Connersville, Indiana, in addition to assisting her husband, Lawrence in their business ventures, St. Paul Tavern, and in hotel management. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting, was an avid card player, and a fan of Cincinnati Reds Baseball.
She was a lifetime member of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church, as well as the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include five children, Linda K. (Randy Holman) Sintz of Brookville, Indiana, Judy (Carroll) Lanning of Brookville, Indiana, Brenda (Kevin) Walter of Sunman, Indiana; two sons, Larry (Jerilyn) Kunkel of Fishers, Indiana and Ron (Sonya) Kunkel of Indianapolis, Indiana; 13 grandchildren, Trisha Lanning, Rob (Michelle) Lanning, Eric (Kathleen) Sintz, Erin (Aaron) Lambert, Joe (Jennifer) Kunkel, Chris (Alli) Kunkel, Lyndi (Nick) Sizemore, Mary (Cody) Houghton, Amanda Walter, Alex (Janine) Walter, Nick (Kendra) Walter, Nathaniel Walter, and Amber Kunkel; 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents & husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Charles Kunkel, and two brothers, Edward Holliday and Lee Holliday.
Family & friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville; where the Rosary will be recited at 2:30 P.M..
Rev.Vincent P. Lampert, will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 9, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at Holy Guardian Angel Oratory, 405 U.S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove, Indiana. Burial will then follow in Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery.
