Milan Schools use RSRF grant to install additional cameras

MILAN, IN — Milan Community Schools recently used a $5,000 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation to purchase and install additional security cameras.

School officials say major construction and renovation work last summer and at the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, in which offices, restrooms, and roofs were upgraded at both the elementary and junior/senior high buildings made the added cameras necessary.

The cameras were purchased from Great Plains Communications in Batesville and were recently installed.

“Once again, the generosity of the Rising Regional Foundation has enabled Milan Schools to purchase equipment vital to the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors,” Superintendent Jane Rogers said.

School officials added over the last several years, the Rising Sun Regional Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in grant funding that has enabled Milan Schools to purchase safety and security technology that they might not have otherwise been able to purchase.
