Melvin “Mac” Enderle

Melvin “Mac” Enderle, of Metamora, was born on June 7, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio, one of eleven children to John C. and Caroline Straub Enderle.  He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.  On June 28, 1952 Melvin married Dorothy J. Oser at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Cincinnati.  After retiring from Custom Tooling in Cincinnati, he worked for Vohland Nursery in Clarksburg and owned Mac’s Barn in Metamora.  Melvin was a life member and former Commander of the VFW Post #9294 – now the Gailey Post #7340; he also was a member of the Bernard Hurst Post #77 American Legion in Brookville, the Metamora Fire Department and St. Michaels Church.  On Friday, February 3, 2017 at the age of 90, Melvin passed away at the Cincinnati VA Hospital.

 

Those surviving who will cherish Melvin’s memory include his children; Beverly (Robert) Cox of Metamora, James (Karen) Rudisell of St. Leon, Robert Rudisell of West Harrison, Geraldine Walters of Cincinnati, and John (Sheila) Dittly of Forest Park, OH; 14 grandchildren, Heather Jones, Quinn Moeller, Shane Kelley, Jim Rudisell, Rodney Rudisell, John Rudisell, Dave Rudisell, John Dittly Jr., Michele Dittly, Jennifer Rudisell, Kelley Rudisell, Sheri Rudisell, Bobby Rudisell Jr., and Julius Walters, as well as many great grandchildren.  Also surviving are siblings, Elvera Vogel, Lillian Halker, Edwin Enderle, Earl Enderle, and Carol Barnhorst.   Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on February 21, 2014 and siblings, Albert Enderle, Esther Day, Ann Marie Enderle, Norma Manning, and Marie Schlewinsky.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. till 12 noon at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville.  Rev. John Kamwendo will officiate the funeral service at 12 noon at the funeral home.  Entombment at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati will follow at 2 p.m. with full military honors.
