Maryland Jean Shrader, 89 – Greensburg

Maryland Jean Shrader, 89, of Greensburg, passed away at 9:03 p.m. on Sunday, October 9th, 2022, at the Columbus Regional Hospital with her children at her bedside. She was born on June 3, 1933, in Westport, the daughter of William Saylor and Dora (Saylor) Saylor Gray. She had been a resident of Decatur County most of her life and spent many years growing up on the banks of Sand Creek. She was a member of the Communion International Church and the New Hope Church. Maryland enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, doing puzzles and many hours in study and prayer preparing for her Spiritual Journey. She married Norman E. Shrader on October 9, 1948, in Greensburg. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Loveland (Neil) Hendricks of Anderson, Darlene (Jerry) Rogers of Summitville, Angel (Jerry) Koors of Greensburg, Belinda Wilder (Rodney Merrell) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Michal (Paul) Pennington, Dory (Jimmy) Mills, Sammi (Shad) Ogle all of Greensburg; her sons, Kirby Shrader of Greensburg and Christopher (Lawanna) Shrader of Anderson; her forty-four grandchildren; her sixty-five great grandchildren and her thirty-three great-great grandchildren and all their spouses. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Hazel Cheever and Naomi Master-Kress; her brothers, George, Claude, Carl, Elmer & Harry Saylor; and two grandchildren, Christal Shrader and Shane Wood. She taught her family what true love was and passed it on to everyone she met. She was an Angel on Earth. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport, Indiana with Mr. James Ray officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Aerie Cemetery in Letts, Indiana. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to One Smile at a Time (Smile Train).
