Mary Ellen “Ellie” Strohmier, of Brookville, was born on December 28, 1959 in Batesville, a daughter to Dale J. and Maryann Ortman Deffner. She married Daryl K. Strohmier on April 6, 1984 at St. Michael Church and he survives. Ellie was a Pharmacist Technician for George’s Pharmacy in Brookville for over 30 years and a member of St. Michael Church. She loved playing cards, working outside, and spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. On Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the age of 56, Ellie passed away at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville.
Those surviving who will cherish Ellie’s memory include her husband of 32 years, Daryl; daughters, Amanda (Ashley) Meyer of Oldenburg; Jenna (Joe) Dunn of Fishers; 2 grandchildren, Carter Meyer and Dyllan Dunn; parents, Maryann and Dale Deffner of Brookville; sisters and brothers, Debbie (Ed) Krause of Batesville, Steve Deffner of Eaton, OH, Cathy (Ron) Feller of Brookville, Dee Dee (Steve) Erhart of St. Peters, Mike (Marty) Deffner of Greenwood, and Karen (Jerry) Kuntz of Harrison, OH.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 929 Main Street, Brookville. Rosary will begin at 3:15. A Mass of Christian burial, officiated by the Very Rev. Sean Danda will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
