Mary A. (Hubert) Carter Moody, 82, of Dillsboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Waters of Dillsboro. She was born in Perry County, Indiana to William and Stella (Duchenois) Hubert on Tuesday, February 21, 1939. Mary was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved being a grandmother and spending quality time with her grandchildren whenever she had the opportunity. Mary was a talented quilter as well.
Mary will deeply be missed by her daughter Dawn Karalfa of Jeffersonville, Indiana; sons Robert Karalfa of Jeffersonville and Doyle Karalfa of Jeffersonville; brother Russell Hubert of St. Henry, Indiana; stepbrother Chris Collins of Conway, South Carolina; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John Moody, son Billy Karalfa, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Burial will follow immediately after at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Borden, Indiana. Memorials may be given in honor of Mary to Loving Hearts Hospice or Dementia Society of America.
