Mark Anthony Gauck, the fourth child born to Arnold A. and Carol Ann (Hoene) Gauck on June 23, 1958, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Aspen Place in Greensburg, Indiana due to complications from a stroke.
A graduate of Batesville High School, Class of 1976, Mark went to work for Romweber’s for a year or so, then left there to pursue a career with the Delta Faucet Co. in Greensburg, working on the assembly line and the shipping department, accruing 45 years with the company. Mark was a very dedicated employee.
Mark wed Liz Gilbert of Greensburg on November 25, 2009, and enjoyed a total of 25 years together.
Mark enjoyed taking rides with Liz and his Sunday rides with his dogs. Mowing his yard was a favorite pastime and he really loved his trips to Panama City Beach, Florida, Jimmy Buffet concerts (56), and drinking margaritas.
Mark loved all genres of music, from AC/DC, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Metallica, to Van Halen. His nephew Chad says, “Uncle Arch took me to my first concert along with Uncle Wayne and to the WEBN fireworks. You will be missed! Love you Arch!” His favorite/only niece Gwen, as Mark would say, “remembers Mark as a jokester and a tease and remembers their trip to Kings Island when she was around 6 years old. She also remembers how Mark wanted Gwen’s husband Mike to hang with him and considered Mike as his brother from another mother. Gwen always enjoyed her talks with Mark, and he had a special place in her heart. RIP Mark!”
Mark thoroughly enjoyed being with and watching his step grandson Payton grow up and loved following his school activities. While Mark never had any children of his own, his eyes lit up when he talked about Payton “Pdawg”. He was very proud of him!
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Arnold “Mandy” and Carol (Hoene) Gauck, his younger brother Wayne Gauck, brother-in-law George Mehlon, and niece April Mehlon.
Mark leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Liz; sisters Yvonne Mehlon and Lynne (Paul) Wonning; brother Steve Gauck; one niece, two nephews, four great nieces, three great nephews, and one great-great niece; stepchildren Daniel Richey, Scott M. Richey and Steven Powers; six step grandchildren, as well as his ex-daughter-in-law Davelyn and step grandson Payton.
Mark’s wishes were to be cremated with no funeral services, but to drink a margarita for him in his memory.
