Marjorie Ann Bedel, age 86 of Hamburg, Indiana, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her residence. Born December 16, 1933 in Greensburg, Indiana, she is the daughter of Bernadine (Nee: Artmeier) and Lawrence Blankman. Marjorie was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio before marrying her husband of 64 years Ferdinand Bedel.
Marjorie was a woman of great faith and love of family. She was always willing to lend a listening ear with words of comfort and encouragement. Through her life there have been many trials and tribulations, but she never complained. Her compassion and determination will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband Ferdie of Hamburg, Indiana; daughters Jeannie Portis of Stevensville, Michigan and Mary Laudick of Oldenburg, Indiana; sons Joseph Bedel of New Alsace, Indiana, Michael Bedel of Oldenburg, Indiana, Dan Bedel of Mooresville, North Carolina, John “Henry” Bedel of Batesville, Indiana, Benson Bedel of Greensburg, Indiana and Francis Bedel of Glenwood, Indiana; sister Martha Blankman of Greensburg, Indiana; brother Arthur Blankman of Batesville, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She is preceded in death by her son Christopher “Sparky” Bedel; sisters Marie Wolter and Rosie Green.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 15th, at St. Catherine of Siena – St. Maurice Campus with Rev. Bill Ehalt officiating. The burial will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Hamburg. The family requests memorials to Riley Children’s Hospital or to the Letts Volunteer Fire Department.
