Marguerite C. Powers, 81, Batesville, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Morning Breeze in Greensburg.
Born, September 26, 1937 in Alert, Indiana, she was the daughter of John Hoffman and Addie (Brown) Ziegler.
Marguerite was a member of the Napoleon Methodist Church, where she was also in the Women’s Auxiliary and she sang in the choir. She loved gardening. Marguerite always had her entire family over every Christmas Eve and made sure everything was perfect. She was known as “Gram” to most of her family.
Marguerite was married to Melvin Lee Powers on July 16, 1955 and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2016.
She is survived by three sons, Donald (Kim) Powers, Acton, Ronnie (Lisa) Powers, Osgood, Eric (Kim) Powers, Greensburg; one daughter, Ginnie Sloan, Batesville; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Melvin Lee Powers, Jr., sister; Phyllis Furlow, and brother; Paul Lynn Hoffman.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Werner officiating.
Interment will be held in the Union Flat Rock Cemetery.
