Margaret Hastings, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away May 1, 2017 in Lawrenceburg IN.
She was born July 28, 1936 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Edward and Marie Doran
She served her country as a member of the United States Navy.
Margaret worked as a secretary for Schenley Distillery.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a member of Aurora American Legion. Margaret loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed volunteering at PAWS. Margaret was very patriotic, and proud to have served her country.
Surviving are husband, Don Hastings, Sr. of Aurora, IN; children, Mayor Donnie Hastings, Jr. of Aurora, IN, Debbie Walter of San Diego, CA, Billy Hastings of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, A. J Hastings, Ashley Hastings, Patrick Walter, Josh Hastings, Ezra Hastings, Ayden Hastings, Cory Hastings; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 4, 2017, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 am with Father Jack Hartzer officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
