Man wanted in 2 states and 7 counties caught

Columbus, IN — Tuesday afternoon deputies with the Jennings County and Brown County Sheriff’s Office completed an investigation that involved the apprehension of a wanted subject, Archie Horton, 46, of Columbus.

After a thorough search consisting of more than 5 counties and 2 states, Horton was eventually taken into custody in Columbus as he was leaving a residence. Horton was wanted out of 7 counties (Washington, Shelby, Monroe, Clark, Brown, Jennings, and Bartholomew with additional charges pending in multiple other counties and Kentucky). Horton was wanted for allegations of auto theft, check fraud, theft, probation violation, and check deception in the various counties.
