Franklin County may issue a mask mandate, after a vote from the Franklin County Health Department on Tuesday evening. The Board voted unanimously, according to Whitewater Publications, towards the mandate but expressed they would be seeking input from the Franklin County Commissioners and Council, as well as the FCHD attorney on wording before moving forward. No date was proposed for the mandate. There have been 26 new cases reported to the Indiana State Department of Health for Franklin County Since July 1. All questions or concerns should be directed to the Health Department office at 765-647-4322. Citizens are asked not to call 911 or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department to report on non-compliance.

Tuesday night, the Franklin County Health Board voted in support of making it mandatory to wear a mask in public throughout the county. The decision was unanimous among members of the body at its regularly scheduled meeting.
