Lyvia Joyce Steele, 80, of Aurora, IN, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024.
She was born September 26, 1943, in Flemingsburg, KY, daughter of the late Frazee F. Story and Retta (McCord) Story.
Lyvia was a homemaker, mentor to many, and Life Insurance Agent for several years.
She was a member of the Manchester Church of Christ, and the Holmes Hill Church of Christ. Charles, her husband, was a founding member of the Manchester Church of Christ and Lyvia was by his side there for over 22 years.
She was a 1971Indiana State Archery Champion. Lyvia was a board member for the Council on Aging.
Lyvia is survived by her loving spouse Charles Steele of Aurora, IN, son, Travis D. (Carol) Bowlin of Burlington, KY; step-sons, John Steele of Lawrenceburg, IN, Philip (Julie) Steele of Independence, KY, Timmy Steele; grandchildren, Travis II, Bradley, Mandie, Hope, JT, Amber, Cody, Austyn, and Nicky; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie League of Burlington, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frazee and Retta Story; son, Rodney T. Steele; sister, Sandra Crutcher; brother, Donnie (Marilyn) Story.
Friends will be received Monday, June 3, 2024, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Holmes Hill Church of Christ, Old St. Rd. #56, Aurora, IN.
Services will be held at the Holmes Hill Church of Christ on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Minister Aaron Snelling officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
