Lynn H. “Skinny” Armstrong, 80, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at his home. Lynn was born in Milan, IN on December 31, 1942, a son of the late Neithal (Peak) Armstrong and Durward Armstrong. Lynn grew up in Switzerland County and attended Patriot High School. Lynn was married to Carolyn Bailey Armstrong on April 13, 1963 in Rising Sun, IN by Rev. Taylor. Lynn and Carolyn were married over 60 years until his passing. He worked as a truck driver at Aurora Casket Company for 40 years, from 1965 to 2005. Skinny never quit working, whether it was fixing tractors, cutting wood or mowing, he always kept busy. He always enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt and fish in his younger days. Skinny was a proud father and loving grandpa and papaw. He was always there to support his kids and grandkids in whatever sport or activity they were participating in. Skinny was well known in the community for his friendly and outgoing nature. He was always there to help a friend in need.
Lynn is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Armstrong, of Rising Sun, IN; by his sons, Kevin Armstrong and wife Kelly, of Rising Sun, IN and Keith Armstrong and wife Amy, of Rising Sun, IN; by his beloved grandchildren, Austin Armstrong and wife Morgan, of Rising Sun, IN; Lydia Armstrong, of Tuscaloosa, AL; Kurtis Armstrong and wife Brianna, of Charleston, SC and Shelby Stephens and husband Tyler of Independence, KY; by his great grandchildren: Barrett, Presley and Emersyn; by his brothers, Jack Armstrong and wife Joan, of Patriot, IN and Carlysle Armstrong and wife Sue, of Fairview, IN; by his sisters, Arbana Harris, of Florence, IN and Donita Dye, of Florence, IN; by his sister-in-law, Carol Ann Armstrong, of Patriot, IN and Darlene Armstrong of Greensburg, IN and by many nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Neithal Armstrong and by brothers, Sterling, Halstead, Duane, Basil, George and Robert Armstrong.
