(Greensburg, IN) – Mandy Lohrum was sworn in as the 2024-25 Rotary District #6580 Governor on Saturday at Greensburg City Hall.

About 75 Rotarians were in attendance, including some from as far away as Nashville, Tennessee.

Lohrum is a member of the Greensburg Rotary Club, and serves as Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County.

She becomes the third member of the Greensburg Rotary Club to serve as district governor since the local club was chartered in 1920. The others are William Scheidler, whose term was from 1939-40, and Jerry Fox from 1998-99.

Fox administered the oath of office to Lohrum (pictured).

District #6580 consists of 36 Rotary Clubs in the Southern third of Indiana.

Rotarian Larry Moore joined the Greensburg Club in 1978 after being invited by Jack Hurst, a lifelong member, to attend a meeting.

Moore introduced Lohrum following the swearing-in.

“Almost every Rotarian remembers the person who asked them to join Rotary,” Moore said. “For me, it was Jack Hurst. For Mandy it was me. She was an active young banker in Greensburg, and I asked her to come to a Rotary meeting. And the rest, as they say, is history.”

Lohrum served as the Greensburg Club President in 2017-2018; Area 6 Assistant Governor 2018-2023, District #6580 Paul Harris Society Coordinator 2021-2022, and District House of Friendship Chair in 2022.

A graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute, Lohrum has assisted in facilitating continuing RLI classes. She has attended four Rotary International Conventions, having recently returned from 2023-24 Convention in Singapore. She is a Major Donor and a Paul Harris Society member. A Major Donor is a Rotarian who has contributed at least $10,000 to the Rotary Foundation.

Outside of Rotary, Lohrum served as a two-term President of the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce; Treasurer for the Arts and Cultural Council since 2015, and Board of Directors of Girls Inc./Shelbyville since 2022.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Ball State University.

Lohrum lives in Greensburg with her husband Micah and two children – 12-year-old MacKenzie and 8-year-old Mason – and all were honored as Paul Harris Fellows.

Paul Harris was the founder of what became known as Rotary in 1905. Today, Rotary International comprises 1.4 million people worldwide who work to put “Service Above Self,” promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.

The Greensburg Rotary Club #3437 meets on Mondays at 12 p.m. at The Branch Gathering Place and Coffee House in downtown Greensburg, and consists of 49 members.
